## Motion

Motion means movement. The motion of an object perceived when its position change continuously with to some stationary body.

## Or

An object may be apper to be  moving to one person and  the same object may be apper to be rest to another person.
The state of rest and motion relative only.

## Distance

The length of actual path is traversed/covered by an object/body during the motion is called distance

i. Actual length of path between two point.

ii. Shap of Path is not fixed.

iii. It is scaler quantity.

iv. The value of distance between two fixed point   may be change because  its depends upon path.

v. The distance between two point is never be zero or negative but only positive.

vi. S.I unit of Distance is Meters "M".

## Displacement

The shortest distance between two point initial and final point of an object is called Displacement.

i. Shortest length of  path
between two fixed point.

ii. Always in straight line.

iii. It is vactor quantity.

iv. The value of displacement between two fixed point is  always constant.

v. The displacement of an object may be zero or negative.

vi. S.I of Displacement is Meters "M".

## Types of motion

There are two types of motion on basis of distance covered by an object/ body.
i. Uniform motion
ii.Non uniform motion

### Uniform motion

Equal distance covered in equal interval of time is called uniform motion.

### Non uniform motion

Unequal distance covered in in equal interval of time is called Non uniform motion.

## Speed

Speed of a body is defined as the distance travelled by the body in per unit time is called speed

Let an object travelled/ distance covered "s" in time "t" second between two fixed point A and B.
Total time taken A to B = t second.
Distance covered = s Meters.
Speed = Distance/ time.
V = s/t m/s.
S.I unit of speed is m/s.

Note :- it has only magnitudes,
–it is scaler quantity.

–Speed can be zero but never be negative.

## Types of Speed

There are two types of Speed.
i.Uniform speed.
ii.Non uniform speed.

## Average Speed

The Sum of total distance covered by an object is divided by the sum of tola time taken.
Average Speed = Distance/time.

## Velocity

Velocity of a body is defined as the displacement travelled by the body in per unit time is called Velocity

Let an object travelled/ covered displacement "s" in time "t" second between two fixed point.
Total displacement covered = s Meter.
Total time taken = t second.
Velocity = Displacement/ time.
V = s/t  m/s.
S.I unit of Velocity is  m/s.
Note;- It has magnitudes and direction also.
–It is vector quantity.

### Types of velocity

There are two types of velocity.

i.Uniform velocity
ii.Non uniform velocity

Uniform velocity – Equal displacement covered in equal interval of time.

Non uniform velocity – Unequal displacement covered in equal interval of time.

## Average velocity

The Sum of initial Velocity and final velocity is divided by 2.

Average velocity = u + v/2.

Where ,
u is initial Velocity.
v is final velocity.

## Acceleration

Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of the velocity of the body with the time.

Let an object start moving with initial Velocity "u" and after time "t" second its Velocity change in final velocity "v", then acceleration 'a'

Acceleration = change in velocity/time.
Acceleration = final velocity – initial Velocity.
a = v–u/t.
S.I unit of acceleration is m/s².

When
1- v=u , then acceleration is zero.
2- v>u ,then acceleration is  positive.
3- v<u , then acceleration is negative. It is retardation or deacceleration.

## Types of Acceleration.

There are two types of acceleration.

i. Uniform Acceleration.

ii. Non uniform Acceleration

Uniform Acceleration:– When velocity of a body changes at uniform rate.

Non uniform Acceleration:– When velocity of a body changes at Unequal and non uniform rate.
